Okay, where did my spring go?
No, for real. Is it like that everywhere where springtime lasts for maybe two weeks and then BOOMSUMMER. I don’t mean to complain or anything, BUT MY BRAIN IS MELTING. How am I supposed to get any writing done???
I’ll just be over here scooping up the last of my gray matter and trying not to pass out, thanks. Methinks it’s time to petition the world to let May last forever and make June go away (also, subsequently, taking my birthday along with it, because man am I tired of getting old). Oh well, it was nice while it lasted. And quite productive too, if I do say so myself.
Do you see what I see? Do you? DO YOU!?!?!????? Well, just in case, let’s break it down a little…
So what happened this month?
- I don’t mean to brag or anything, BUT HAVE YOU SEEN MY WORDCOUNT FOR GLIMMER? Like, for real. Look at it. LOOK AT IT. Me? Obnoxious? Never. But I’m just so excited-I’ve been so freaking stoked to write this novel since February. The whole idea just hit me like a freight train, and I thought I would save it for camp or something. But no. I couldn’t wait. Honestly, this novels needs to get out of my brain and it’s basically forcing its way into the world at this point.
- FYI, I freaking love Glimmer.
- It’s awesome.
- We bought a house!!! I know I just announced last month that we were just beginning the hunting process, but if there’s anything about me you should know at this point, it’s that I don’t like to WAIT. (Wasn’t I just talking about that in my last post? Hmmm…it’s a conspiracy…) We don’t have the keys yet because even I don’t have the power to make the laws of house-buying bend to my will (YET. Give me time), so we still have a bunch other junk to get through, but our bid was accepted, the house is in pending, and if all goes well we’ll be official house-owners in just a few short weeks!
- Fairytale is almost ready to go the proofreader!! OMGGGGGGGG. I know the word count isn’t much changing for Fairytale anymore, but that’s because I’m not at the point where I’m really starting to fine-tune everything. It’s freaky and surreal and holy crap ILOVETHISNOVEL. You’re going to love it too. Yes.
May was a good month, ya’ll. Like, a super intense, overwhelming, ball-of-stress, GOOD MONTH. We’re creeping into the halfway point of 2018, now. The wrath of the sun is upon us. Let’s make a good one.
Are you already as sick of summer as I am? Are you more productive (writing, reading, whatever) in the summer or winter? HOW DO YOU BEAT THE HEAT???
