Monthly Book Draft Challenge : September

Monthly Book Draft Challenge : September

Oh boy. Are we ready to look at September’s progress?

Me neither. Let’s get this over with.

Fairytale: 0
Gingerbread: 6k
Ocean’s Daughter: 0

Total: 6k

Oh. Well. Huh.

(should I remove Fairytale and Gingerbread from the list since they’re done now?)

Okay, I mentioned in August I felt like I was starting to slow down, and I definitely feel that’s the case. I’ve never really focused so intently on my writing before, so I think I’m still learning how to balance daily writing with my day-to-day life and this decrease in output was inevitable. Or at least that’s what I’m telling myself.

So what happened this month?

  • I went on a mini vacation with my sister and her friends visiting from out of the¬†country. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting to go, but at the last minute things turned around and off we went! It was a fantastic trip, but honestly much more exhausting than i thought it’d be. I admit, after we returned I was feeling less than motivated to get back to the keyboard.
  • My husband and I moved out of our house. Let me tell you, I am NOT a relaxed mover. Although we didn’t have far to go, the constant clutter, chaos and overall lack of order seriously puts me out of sorts. Truth is, we’re STILL trying to settle in (we ran into a minor hiccup completely out of our control that put a pretty big delay on things) and writing is being pushed further and further from the top of my priority list.

I know, it sounds like a bunch of excuses. Maybe they are. But now that the month is winding to an end I’m trying to shake off the September blues and get myself prepped for October. It should be fairly easy because October means November is not too far away, and November means NaNoWriMo! Omg. Get ready for some serious NaNoWriMo take-over folks. Oh yes. It’s coming.

Did you have an eventful September? Did it effect your writing? Are you gearing up for NaNo prep next month?
